FRAPPE (ΦΡΑΠΕ)

My FAVOURITE beverage to have on a hot and sunny day is definitely a frappe 🙌🏼 This time last year I basically lived off frappes for 2 months while my cousin was staying with us from Thessaloniki. They are so refreshing, healthy (if you omit the sugar.. which not many Greeks do 😂) and super easy to make. I usually have mine my without sugar but today I thought I’d try it with Natvia natural sweetener for something different – and it was so delicious!! ♡. I can’t wait to have this again in Greece later this year! 🇬🇷.

I learnt this recipe from my Greek cousin and since he taught me and went back to Greece, I haven’t stopped making it when summer time comes around. Trust me, if you LOVE COFFEE you are going to get addicted to making these – sorry in advance…

INGREDIENTS

✦ 1 heaped tsp of instant coffee.

✦ 1 – 2 tsp of sugar/natural sweeter depending on how sweet you like it (*optional).

✦ Enough cold water or milk (I use almond milk occasionally) of choice to fill the glass.

✦ 4 – 5 ice cubes.

METHOD

✦ place coffee & sugar/sweetener into a glass, then pour the cold water into the glass – but ONLY until it is 1/4 full.

✦ using a handheld frappe mixer (click here to see what it looks like) and move it slightly up and down until all ingredients are combined and the froth becomes thick.

✦ place the ice cubes into the glass and then pour in the remaining water/milk until it fills the glass.

✦ put in a straw and give it a stir. Enjoy! 🙌🏼.
